
Job description
A nurse practitioner (NP) will work in the emergency department at Mount Sinai Hospital, assessing patients' health status, initiating and ordering therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, and prescribing medication regimens. The NP will work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare team members to provide comprehensive care to patients.
The NP will assess patients' health status, initiate and order therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, prescribe medication regimens, and interpret findings to alter the plan of care. The NP will also educate and counsel patients on health promotion, maintenance, disease prevention, and management of acute/chronic illnesses.
This role requires a strong foundation in nursing research utilization, physical assessment techniques, and leadership skills. The NP will work in a fast-paced emergency department environment, requiring excellent critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
