Job Description
10x Genomics is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Instrument Software team. This role focuses on designing and developing embedded control software and firmware for biological instrumentation platforms, leveraging C, C++, Python and Rust. The ideal candidate will be a technical leader who thrives in a lab environment, enjoys problem-solving, and is passionate about building high-quality software. Collaboration with various engineering teams is crucial for rapid iteration and deployment of new designs.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, math, or scientific discipline
- 5 years of experience (or 3 years with a Master's) in software development
- Strong proficiency in C or Python3
- Experience with AI tools for software development
- Understanding of fundamental mechanical and electrical engineering principles (e.g., digital & analog design, lab equipment)
- Rapid software prototyping and validation skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
