Data Freshness
Every competitor pivot, every new market, every product roadmap shift leaks first into job postings. By the time a strategic move hits TechCrunch, it's been encoded in their hiring patterns for months. Here's what to watch — and what each pattern means.
Watch for a sustained surge in roles tagged 'Forward Deployed Engineer', 'Solutions Architect', 'Enterprise Account Executive', and 'Customer Success Manager — Enterprise'. When the function mix tilts from self-serve toward white-glove, the GTM motion is shifting.
Geocoded location data on every posting reveals new market entry months before the announcement. Watch for the first 'GM', 'Country Manager', or 'Head of Sales' role in a city, followed by an SE + AE wave 30-60 days later.
Function-tagged hiring spikes precede product launches by 6-12 months. A wave of 'Applied Researcher' or 'MLE - GPU infra' roles tells you where the AI roadmap is going. Compliance or risk hires signal a regulated-industry play. Hardware roles signal a new physical product.
Most competitive intelligence tools are built around new postings. Few track removals well. Hirebase's dedicated expired-jobs feed surfaces strategic retreat — function-specific role removals without backfill, dormant geographies, and quiet product wind-downs — weeks before public RIF disclosures or sunset announcements. The negative signal is often clearer than the positive one, and it's where most competitors miss.
Stop briefing leadership with quarterly Gartner reports and slide decks built last sprint. Hirebase data flows into your existing BI stack — Looker, Tableau, Hex, Metabase, custom internal tools — and updates as the market does.
Track 5, 50, or 500 competitors. Hiring velocity, function mix, and geographic moves update daily.
REST API and bulk exports plug into Looker, Tableau, Hex, Mode, Metabase, or your in-house dashboards.
Schedule weekly competitive briefings that land in execs' inboxes auto-generated from the live dataset.
Every competitive intelligence brief, every QBR, every board update opens with the same questions. Hirebase data answers them with structured evidence, not anecdote.
Filter their job postings by function (Enterprise AE, SE, FDE, Strategic CSM). Track 30–60–90-day net flow. Compare against their PLG-side roles.
Method: Group postings by city or country. Surface cities with first-time hiring or accelerating role counts. Cross-reference job functions to infer GTM vs delivery vs R&D footprint.
Method: Filter for AI/ML roles by sub-discipline — Applied Research, MLE, GPU infra, Forward Deployed AI. Watch for emerging titles. Compare to your competitive set's AI/ML role mix.
Distribution across 4.6M+ active listings
Method: Watch net role flow over time — opens minus removals tracked via the expired-jobs feed. A persistent negative trend often surfaces hiring freezes weeks before public disclosures.
Once your CI lead validates the workflow, hand the API to a data analyst or BI engineer. REST API, JSON in, JSON out. No black boxes. No analyst-firm retainers. Self-serve plans starting at free.
Filter postings across 50+ structured fields. The atomic unit for any custom CI dashboard.
Query 230k+ enriched company profiles by industry, services, technology stack, and hiring activity.
Pre-computed hiring rate, hiring velocity, function-mix, and geographic-flow signals. (See above.)
Daily delta of removed listings — the wedge for tracking strategic retreat and hiring freezes.
Maintain a live competitor watchlist that updates daily. Replace ad-hoc Slack messages and 'I think they're hiring for X' with quantified evidence in every brief.
