Job Description
We are seeking a motivated GIS Technician to support the Land Department of Georgia Power. This position will assist in managing, updating, and maintaining spatial data systems using GIS tools and applications.
Requirements
- Manage and update GIS databases, ensuring accurate and consistent geographical data input.
- Assist in GIS data manipulation, visualization, and map production.
- Support GIS Analysts and the Land Department team with larger spatial and mapping projects.
- Combine datasets from multiple sources to create cartographic and analytical products.
- Develop exhibit maps for land acquisition, feasibility studies, and project updates.
- Participate in QA/QC and metadata maintenance to ensure data integrity.
- Assist in data acquisition and documentation, following internal GIS standards.
- Attend training sessions to enhance proficiency in GIS tools, technologies, and workflows.
