The Tax Compliance Accountant is primarily responsible for supporting business license tracking and preparation for hundreds of municipalities across the business. This role supports financial integrity by preparing Sales & Use Tax returns, excise tax filings, and associated journal entries for multiple states.
Requirements
- Prepare and file renewals for city and state business licenses across all operating regions.
- Support the preparation and filing of sales & use tax, excise tax, and other similar regulatory filings.
- Coordinate the collection of necessary data and documentation to support state income tax filings.
- Perform tax accruals via journal entries and conduct regular analysis and reconciliation of general ledger accounts.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of tax department processes and work instructions.
- Communicate with Project Managers and department personnel to resolve accounting matters relevant to specific projects.
- Collaborate with external tax consultants and assist in gathering information required for specialized tax matters.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the manager (i.e. special projects)
