Shift Engineer (Electrical) responsibilities include ensuring reliable operation of generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of Plant systems, supporting head operations, and performing inspections.
Requirements
- Ensure reliable, safe and efficient operation of all generating units, auxiliaries, and balance of Plant systems.
- Support head operations in ensuring full compliance with Statutory HSS, environmental and technical requirements from central and state governmental bodies.
- Supports shift operations in day-to-day routine.
- Supports head operations in preparation of generation schedules (day ahead, intraday revisions etc.), and its coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Inspect Plant systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for repairs.
- Supports plant maintenance team for scheduled/un-scheduled maintenance works as and when required.
- Delegates and assigns work tasks to assigned shift engineer/technicians to maintain optimum Plant operations.
- Supports head operations in preparation and implementation of complete Plant operations reports and checklists, including daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and checklists.
- Supports shift operations for PPA compliance, DSM management, and settlements.
- Works in line with the approved operations plan to achieve yearly Generation targets (including minimization of APC) and yearly agreed Plant/Machines Availability targets.
- IMS implementation, documentation preparation and updating, pertaining to assigned area.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned by the head operations, from time to time.
