
Job description
Serve as a Practical Nurse providing inpatient/outpatient services for patients in accordance with established policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines in the pain management clinic. Coordinate patient care with members of the pain management team as well as members of the perioperative team and facilitates the achievements of optimal outcomes in relation to clinical care, quality, and cost effectiveness.
Prepare and administer medications, perform procedures such as interventional pain procedures, bladder catheterizations, pulse oximetry, oxygen administration, EKGs, glucose testing, and other clinic specified procedures. Provide individualized patient teaching on appropriate topics to include preventative healthcare and health maintenance.
Must possess basic knowledge of emergency procedures, be skilled in preparing and administering medications, and be able to work with a team to ensure medication/supplies are replenished.
