Akerman is seeking an experienced Legal Administrative Assistant to provide administrative and operational support to multiple attorneys in the Trademark Practice Group of the firm’s New York office. The role is critical to the efficient management of trademark matters and client communications.
Requirements
- Thorough knowledge of trademark prosecution processes and terminology
- Working knowledge of the USPTO Trademark Center, TEAS and related forms
- Working knowledge of the TTAB courts and their electronic case access and filing systems
- Familiarity with intellectual property litigation processes
- Experience with document management and billing systems (e.g., iManage, Intapp, or similar applications)
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications
- Experience with trademark docketing systems
- Experience opening new matters and prepare, complete, and process matter intake forms
- Experience drafting and prepare engagement letters for attorney and client execution
- Reviewing and processing invoices, ensuring accuracy to help facilitate timely collection
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and tight deadlines
