Role Overview

Akumen is seeking a Senior Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) to support the security posture, authorization activities, and ongoing compliance requirements of a federal technology and data program.

What You Will Do

Lead development and maintenance of security authorization artifacts and supporting documentation, coordinate with technical teams to assess vulnerabilities, remediation activities, and security controls, and support continuous monitoring, cybersecurity scanning, and risk management activities.

Why It Might Be a Fit

Must possess an active Secret security clearance or higher, or have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance or higher in accordance with contract requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
• Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in information security, cybersecurity, or information assurance
• Demonstrated expertise in vulnerability management, cybersecurity scanning tools, and cloud-hosted security practices
• Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity frameworks, privacy requirements, and continuous monitoring practices
• One or more relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, cloud security certification, CISSP, or CISM
