
Job description
The machinist is responsible for setting up and operating machine tools to produce precision parts and fabricating and modifying parts to make or repair machine tools. They maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal properties, layout, and machining procedures.
Performs machinist duties, assists with tasks in the machine shop and production areas, performs machining work according to drawings or supervisor's instructions, and maintains order and cleanliness in the machine shop.
The ideal candidate is self-motivated, able to problem solve, and has excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. They should have a proven understanding of milling machines, lathes, and grinders, and be able to use measurement equipment and hold tolerances.
