Stranding Machine Operator

Role Overview

Operates an upright stranding machine or Bartell machine to strand wire onto a spool. Supervises the general quality of the wire/cable. Maintains and cleans the machines and area as required.

What You Will Do

Measures wire/cable for size using micrometers. Clears area of other wire materials. Completes job cards and wire log sheets. Sets up the machines by threading wire through machine guides. Secures materials according to job being run. Respoons wire/cable using respooling machines.

Demonstrates ability to self-motivate and to problem solve in a fast-paced setting. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Must have good documentation practice. A proven understanding of part workmanship.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to read a micrometer and basic computer skills
• Ability to lift items weighing 10-15 lbs
