Certified Coder

Role Overview

As a Certified Coder, you'll be responsible for assigning ICD-10 diagnoses and CPT procedure codes for physician professional services and ASC charges. You'll work closely with departments to optimize reimbursement, ensure charge capture, and reduce late charges.

What You Will Do

Abstract medical records, review physician notes and charts, ensure coded services meet guidelines, and identify revenue opportunities. You'll also post charges, produce invoices, and make changes to demographic information.

Why It Might Be a Fit

You'll need 5+ years of medical billing or coding experience, a Certified Processional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS) certification, and active knowledge of CMS guidelines. You'll work in a fast-paced environment and need to be detail-oriented, reliable, and able to multitask.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Certified Processional Coder (CPC) or Certified Coding Specialist (CCS)
• 5+ years medical billing or coding experience
• Experience in Ophthalmology
• Active knowledge of CMS guidelines, contracted insurance guidelines, and coding policies
• Computer literacy, math skills, and excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Detail oriented, reliable, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
