Sr Backend Engineer

Amwell is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with strong backend expertise and growing full-stack capabilities to join our engineering organization. The ideal candidate has deep experience building scalable microservices, strong cloud knowledge, and a passion for delivering reliable, high-quality systems.

Requirements

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services within a microservices architecture.
• Build and support core RCM platform services, including payment, eligibility, cost, and discount services.
• Develop high-performance, reliable APIs and ensure system scalability and resilience.
• Participate in architectural discussions and contribute to backend system design decisions.
• Support integration between backend services and frontend applications.
• Contribute to full-stack initiatives, including Angular upgrades and UI auditing features such as RTE calculation workflows.
• Troubleshoot production issues and optimize system performance.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver technical solutions aligned with business needs.
• Contribute to innovation initiatives, including participation in engineering AI programs and committees.
