The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for ensuring that all machinery and equipment remain in good working condition in a GMP/GDP environment. The role also includes performing and documenting regular preventive maintenance to support efficient production operations and ensure compliance with governing regulations.
Requirements
- Maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and perform preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment
- Apply working knowledge of electrical systems to support timely repair and replacement activities
- Complete preventive maintenance work orders, accurately account for spare parts usage and labor, and maintain records within the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS)
- Perform and document preventive maintenance on processing and packaging equipment, including conveyors, drives, pumps, valves, and control systems
- Maintain and repair equipment such as unscramblers, inkjet coders, conveyors, labelers, fillers, cappers, torquers, case erectors, tape machines, and case coders
- Organize and maintain the maintenance shop, tools, and equipment to ensure operational readiness and compliance
- Uphold GMP standards by maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant working environment
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of work order documentation and reporting
- Support production lines with equipment changeovers, setups, and assist in training production staff on proper equipment use, cleaning, and adjustments
- Identify and report workplace hazards and ensure compliance with all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, GDP, and GMP requirements
- Perform other related duties as assigned
