Software Engineer, Map Health and Validation

Aurora is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their Offline Mapping team, focused on creating high-definition (HD) maps for autonomous vehicle operations. The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining backend systems for map quality evaluation, issue reporting, and data integration. The team collaborates with various teams to build the core system for processing and resolving map issues.

Requirements

• BS/MS or PhD in Computer Science, Robotics or related field
• 4+ years of industry experience building software in a production environment
• Proficiency with developing backend systems (gRPC, SQL databases) using Python
• Experience with software design, especially complex systems
• Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team environment
• Desirable experience with mapping systems or robotics
• Familiarity with real-time and multi-threaded systems
