Job Description
Metrology Engineer (Calibration) responsible for applying measurement science, mathematics, and physics to develop and maintain calibration systems, procedures, and methods for mechanical, pressure/vacuum, temperature, humidity, dimensional, test measuring, and diagnostic equipment. Evaluate new calibration methods and procedures, use statistics to analyze measurement standards and processes, and recommend calibration standards and TMDE.
Requirements
- Minimum Ordinary National Certificate in Physics / Electro-Mechanics / Mechanical Engineering or significant work experience and demonstrated academic abilities
- Sound academic background in Mechanics, Mechanical Engineering, and Mathematics
- Good knowledge of statistics and methods of estimating uncertainty of measurement results
- Understanding of ISO/IEC 17025:2005
- Extensive practical experience of calibration of TMDE, including diagnostic and rectification work
- Ability to develop software using Microsoft Excel, Metler Toledo, and Fluke or LabView
- Sound understanding and insight in mechanical disciplines, such as pressure, vacuum, temperature, humidity, dimensional length, and angles
