Lead Project Engineer (Bridges)

Role Overview

This position reports to a Delivery Leader or Team Leader and is recognized as a technical specialist with an in-depth and advanced knowledge in a specific area(s) or discipline. Structural engineering position that designs, develops specifications, estimates and works with structural team members to complete projects in the public infrastructure and private industry markets across the country.

What You Will Do

Acts as a technical specialist in a particular engineering area or discipline. Provides internal technical advice to project managers throughout the company for the purpose of preparing proposals and developing client presentations. Collaborates with project planning, development of cost and budget estimates, and technical guidance to project managers.

Requirements

• Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
• Excellent listening and reading skills, including proofreading
• Effective problem solving and decision making skills
• Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain client and employee relationships
• Ability to lead, train, and mentor others
• Knowledge of highway design standards, DOT design policies and plan preparation criteria
• Practical Knowledge in use of Highway Capacity Manual, Roadside Design Guide, MUTCD, and AASHTO Standards
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or related engineering field required
• 8+ years engineering experience in transportation and P.E. licensure required
• Knowledge/experience of Microstation, Geopak/Inroads, AutoCAD/Civil 3D strongly preferred
