Job Description
The Systems Administrator plays a critical role in maintaining and advancing Baylor Genetics' technology infrastructure, with a strong emphasis on Azure and Linux platforms, to ensure high availability, security, and performance.
Requirements
- Design, deploy, and manage infrastructure to ensure high availability, security, and performance
- Engineer and maintain systems supporting enterprise and HPC workloads
- Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) to enable consistent, repeatable, and scalable system deployments
- Monitor, operate, and optimize infrastructure with a focus on stability, performance, and cost efficiency
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and tooling to streamline operations and improve system reliability
- Apply system security best practices including patch management, system hardening, and access controls
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to other team members and support staff
- Install and configure hardware and software as needed
- Maintain working knowledge of operating systems and enterprise applications as they relate to system operations
