Global Functional Materials Manager

Role Overview

Provides expertise, advice, and direction for design office and field materials management activities within the global business unit to ensure the overall organizational effectiveness among all functions responsible for the materials management process.

What You Will Do

Provides functional guidance to personnel assigned to project materials management, manages the global business unit Material Management function, advises Supply Chain Management, performs employee performance evaluations, and develops and directs necessary training programs.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or master's degree (or international equivalent)
• 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience
• 8 years' experience in project-based materials management of major equipment and bulk materials
• Experience on a major module project is preferred
• Has worked on large projects (>$2 billion) involving multi-office global execution and logistics
• Advanced knowledge of front-end materials management work processes and systems expertise
• Advanced knowledge of project Procurement operations related to the acquisition of materials on projects
• Advanced knowledge of Engineering disciplines, the work process and the deliverables produced
• Knowledge of Bechtel's Digital Supply Chain System materials management aspects of drawing takeoff input, Material Acquisition Planner, input of requisitions, and goods and services codes is an asset
• Advanced knowledge of supplier / fabricator data systems and how those systems can interact with DSCS is an asset
• Advanced knowledge of advanced work packaging, pre-buy methodology, and materials status reporting
• Advanced knowledge of applicable Bechtel policies, instructions, and Procurement procedures and guidelines, and specifically familiarity in Field Engineering and Construction activities associated to the Integrated Work Process Procedures related to materials management
• Prior experience in major global, direct hire and contract management projects, which include Engineering, Procurement, and material control activities
