Senior Software Engineer - Ruby on Rails

Role Overview

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will focus on developing and enhancing web applications using Ruby on Rails, Elixir, and Phoenix. You will work with a community of engineers organized into Scrum teams focused on Blackbaud's award management and stewardship management capabilities.

What You Will Do

Write well-documented and structured code, evaluate and improve security and performance, attend development meetings, and work closely with product management and teammates.

Requirements

• 5+ years of professional experience in a backend web application stack
• Extensive experience with common web technologies (JavaScript, CSS, HTML)
• Experience working with RESTful services and APIs
• Understanding of fundamental design principles behind a scalable web application
• Experience with cloud deployment and database technologies (Postgres, Elasticsearch, Cassandra, Redis, AWS, Docker)
• Experience with version control tools (git, continuous integration)
• Experience using testing frameworks
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively with other software engineers
• Strong problem solving and prioritization skills
