Blue Bird is seeking an Assistant Plant Manager to oversee the daily operations of the assembly facility, ensuring efficient production, quality control, and adherence to safety standards. The successful candidate will manage personnel, coordinate production, and implement strategies to optimize workflow and minimize costs.
Requirements
- Reviews and approves adequate plans for the control of planned outputs, budget spending, labor efficiency
- Reviews performance against operating plans and standards
- Supports Plant Manager in development of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, People (SQDCP) progress measures and activities
- Defines and recommends objectives in each area of responsibility
- Lead, develop, and drive continuous improvement initiatives for SQDCP
- Reviews and approves cost control reports, cost estimates, and staffing plans
- Coordinates and collaborates with other departments of the facility
- Develops plans for new areas of technology for the manufacturing functions
- Work closely with PM to acquire next level knowledge to cover the responsibilities of PM position in their absence
- Reviews and approves the implementation of manufacturing and organizational plans
- Establishes objectives and procedures governing the performance of assigned activities
- Selects and maintains qualified personnel in all positions reporting directly to the Assistant Plant Manager
- Directs, monitors, and appraises the performance of areas immediately reporting to Assistant Plant Manager
- Identifies training needs, initiates development of team, recommends effective personnel action
- Maintains appropriate communications within area of responsibility
