Brookfield Renewable US is hiring 3 River Stewards to ensure public safety on the Oswego River. The position is seasonal, starting July 1 and ending November 28.
Requirements
- Well-organized and enthusiastic about working with the public
- Able to effectively communicate in person
- Capable of performing duties independently as directed by a supervisor
- Eager to work outdoors in all weather conditions
- Have strong attention to detail
- Minimally be able to walk on a variety of surfaces (inclines and unsteady terrain) and stand for extended periods of time in all types of weather conditions
- Be comfortable speaking with the general public and enforcing public safety regulations associated with the Oswego River at the Varick Dam
- General angling knowledge is preferred but not a requirement
- Live within a reasonable commuting distance to the Oswego River Varick Hydropower Dam facility
- Background or desire working in the outdoors
- Ability to work in all types of weather (hot and inclement)
- Possess the ability to learn specific rules and regulations as related to public safety on the Oswego River
- Ability to commit to a (5) month contract
- Ability to work days, weekends, & Holidays
- Ability to remain calm under stressful situations
- Ability to effectively communicate in all types of situations while maintaining composure
