This is a hybrid role based in Novato, CA, with 3 days per week on-site. The Buck Institute for Research on Aging is seeking a detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our Finance team.
Requirements
- Maintain accounting records and transactions in accordance with GAAP, internal controls, and applicable compliance requirements.
- Prepare journal entries, monthly accruals, account reconciliations, and supporting schedules for month-end and quarter-end close.
- Assist with financial statement preparation and support annual audits, retirement plan audits, and other audit requests.
- Provide backup support for accounts payable and other accounting functions as needed.
- Review corporate credit card activity, travel expenses, and employee reimbursements for compliance with policy and funding requirements.
- Support year-end reporting, including 1099 preparation and other tax-related compliance activities.
- Assist with preparation of schedules and supporting information for the organization’s tax filings.
- Support semi-monthly payroll processing, including payroll preparation, manual checks, and timekeeping follow-up.
- Prepare and reconcile monthly invoices related to clinical trial activity or other designated programs.
- Record and reconcile cash receipts across multiple banking accounts.
