The Global Packaging R&D Engineer is responsible for developing, optimizing, and industrializing innovative, compliant, and sustainable packaging solutions across global markets.
Requirements
- Design, develop, and qualify primary, secondary, and tertiary packaging solutions
- Lead packaging innovation projects aligned with brand, sustainability, and consumer needs
- Translate marketing, technical, and supply requirements into robust packaging specifications
- Keep up to date with technological innovations and develop new packaging innovations
- Support pilot trials, line trials, and global roll-outs from concept to mass production
- Collaborate with manufacturing plants to ensure packaging compatibility with filling, labeling, and logistics processes
- Integrate sustainability principles, including recyclability, lightweighting, and material reduction
- Collaborate with sustainability team to meet corporate and regulatory targets
- Work closely with procurement teams and global packaging suppliers on technical development and cost optimization
- Support supplier qualification, benchmarking, and innovation scouting
- Develop and maintain global packaging specifications, standards, and guidelines
- Support quality investigations related to packaging performance issues
