Performs all aspects and modalities of Respiratory Care to Health System patients per department guidelines. Responds to resuscitation situations and other respiratory emergencies when needed. Maintains and completes appropriate documentation in patients’ charts and departmental records. Performs as charge therapist when necessary.
Requirements
- Administer continuous oxygen and continuous bland aerosol therapy per department guidelines
- Perform intermittent therapy and diagnostic procedures per department guidelines
- Access patient medication from the Medication Security Area to implement respiratory care per hospital and departmental policies and procedures
- Initiate and maintain mechanical ventilation and completes appropriate documentation
- Provide airway management, ventilation, and closed chest compression as necessary during emergency resuscitation. Perform intubation after receiving approval.
- Initiate and maintain monitoring equipment
- Perform as charge therapists in the absence of a supervisor
- Knowledgeable in the use of equipment and treatment modalities for patients of all ages
- Charge all services provided inclusive of use of BCX system
