
Job description
The Leasing Agent assists the Community Manager with coordinating business operations of HUD/RD or Tax Credit properties, providing eligible individuals with unfurnished housing in multi-family dwellings. The role involves overseeing complex operations, ensuring high occupancy, and maintaining records. The Leasing Agent will work with the Community Manager to obtain new residents' signatures, complete reports, and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
The Leasing Agent will show apartments, accept applications, screen applicants, and process approvals. They will also collect rents, maintain petty cash, and ensure proper accounting of monies collected. Additionally, the Leasing Agent will file and maintain resident records, prepare budget recommendations, and promote harmonious relations among tenants, employees, owners, and the local community.
The ideal candidate will have a high school diploma or equivalent, one year of related experience, and a valid driver's license. They will also have strong communication and organizational skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team. The Leasing Agent will be responsible for enforcing house rules, maintaining a pleasant and helpful manner, and making recommendations for improvement of company policies and procedures.
