Director, Scientific Product Development

Catalent is a leading global contract development and manufacturing organization (CDMO) seeking a Director, Scientific Product Development to lead the scientific services at the Nottingham Facility. The ideal candidate will have a degree in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry or physical sciences and over 10 years of experience in pharmaceutical product design, development and manufacturing. The role will involve developing and communicating a compelling vision and strategy for the Product Development function, providing scientific guidance to the Product Development team, and managing the operational budget and expenses for the Scientific Product Development function.

Requirements

• Education to degree level or higher in pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry or physical sciences
• Greater than 10 years’ experience in pharmaceutical product design, development and manufacturing
• In-depth understanding of the formulation development of simple and complex oral dosage forms and the supporting analytical methodologies and characterisation techniques
• Problem-solving skills and ability to facilitate problem-solving
• Risk management skills
• Understanding of regulatory and quality requirements in the markets and the application of ICH guidelines
