
Job description
Work on an assigned vessel on a regular equal time schedule, assisting engineering and operations as directed by the Port Engineer. The Chief Engineer will be responsible for scheduling long-term maintenance, performing inspections, and communicating with the Port Engineer on all work being performed.
Schedule maintenance, perform inspections, communicate with the Port Engineer, and assist with emergency repairs. The Chief Engineer will also work on special projects to improve workflow and engineering processes.
The ideal candidate will have experience maintaining tugs and barges, a US Coast Guard license, and knowledge of oil transportation and marine industry. The Chief Engineer will work independently with minimal guidance and must be physically fit to board barges and tugs at sea and in port.
