Licensed Practical Nurse

The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care in accordance with the facility, departmental and professional nursing practice.

Requirements

• Review patient history, including prior medical/surgical and urological history.
• Perform nursing skills present in the urological clinic and knowledge of laboratory services and their requirements.
• Provide direct surgical assistance with urological office procedures.
• Provide delegation and oversight to direct and indirect care delivery of physician team.
• Assist physician with patient examination as needed.
• Performs any treatments per physician orders, including, but not limited to, administration of medications, dressing changes and catheterizations.
• Responds to patient telephone inquiries by evaluating and responding to the patient's problems and questions;
• Follows up with patients on lab results, including the scheduling of any additional tests.
• Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings
• Maintains confidentiality of all patient information and disseminates to others on a need to know basis.
