The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and documents patient care in accordance with the facility, departmental and professional nursing practice.
Requirements
- Review patient history, including prior medical/surgical and urological history.
- Perform nursing skills present in the urological clinic and knowledge of laboratory services and their requirements.
- Provide direct surgical assistance with urological office procedures.
- Provide delegation and oversight to direct and indirect care delivery of physician team.
- Assist physician with patient examination as needed.
- Performs any treatments per physician orders, including, but not limited to, administration of medications, dressing changes and catheterizations.
- Responds to patient telephone inquiries by evaluating and responding to the patient's problems and questions;
- Follows up with patients on lab results, including the scheduling of any additional tests.
- Attends and participates in monthly staff meetings
- Maintains confidentiality of all patient information and disseminates to others on a need to know basis.
