Manufacturing Engineer

Role Overview

The Manufacturing Engineer will be a key hands-on contributor to the Cisco-Acacia Optics Operations Team, interacting with internal stakeholders and outsourced manufacturing partners to enable the rapidly growing and expanding portfolio of Coherent pluggables and embedded modules.

What You Will Do

Generate and maintain detailed assembly and inspection instructions, provide process development support, initiate and direct the design of production tooling, fixtures, and automation equipment, drive continuous improvement, and achieve all gate review checklist actions.

Requirements

• BS Engineering degree with 5+ years of optical/electronics manufacturing experience
• Hands-on experience in participating in product transfers and quick volume ramping at CM's
• Expertise in collecting and analyzing data by applying SPC, FMEA, and DOE techniques
• Experienced in assembly automation equipment for high-volume manufacturing
• 3+ years experience with Solidworks (or comparable) CAD software
• Some exposure to surface mount technology and thru-hole manual soldering techniques for opto-electronic components
• Background in machining processes, thermal management, and fixture design
• Familiarity with optical fiber handling, cleaning, splicing, and routing
