Fleet Services Master Technician

Diagnose, repair, and maintain the City’s Fleet of specialized light and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Perform preventative maintenance inspections, repairs, and overhauls of driveline components, generators, starters, lighting and electrical systems, wheel bearings, hydraulic and brakes systems. Install specialized equipment, make emergency in-field repairs, and diagnose defects in various types of vehicles and equipment.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• vocational/technical school with courses in diesel and gasoline engines, hydraulics, heavy equipment repair, mechanics, and shop practices
• five years’ experience as an automotive and/or heavy equipment mechanic
• A.S.E. Master Certification as a Master Automobile Technician and/or as a Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician
• basic Computer skills
