
Job description
The Genetic Counselor IV plays a pivotal role in advancing the genetic counseling program by integrating best practices and innovative approaches. Provides expert consultations supporting the CDC Newborn Screening and Molecular Biology Branch with interpretation of complex screening data.
Provides clinical insights needed for data interpretation, training, and development of communication strategies. Leads the design and implementation of programs supporting stakeholder engagement and collaboration, and development of the newborn screening workforce.
Must have a Certified Genetic Counselors (CGC) certification from the American Board of Genetics Counseling (ABGC). Must be able to obtain and maintain the required customer clearance for access to systems, facilities, equipment and property.
