Job Description
The Itinerant Lead Teacher provides skilled, individualized support to children in the Head Start program, assisting with both classroom and bus operations. This role involves comprehensive staff supervision, curriculum implementation, and engagement with families, as well as managing vehicle operations and ensuring safe environments. The position is non-exempt, 37.50/wk, and offers a supplemental bonus.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age
- Associate Degree in early childhood education or closely related field
- Department of Early Education & Care Lead Teacher certification
- CPR and Emergency Pediatric First Aid certification (according to EEC regulations)
- Knowledge of Head Start and EEC Regulations, and NAEYC criterion (if applicable)
- Commitment to quality early care and education
- Excellent communication skills
- Organizational skills and attention to detail
- Understanding of cultural and socioeconomic diversity
- Comfortable with movement (including stairs and potential for lifting)
- Must have a valid driver's license and vehicle
- Successful completion of a Background Record Check (BRC)
