Bioinformatics Scientist

Computercraft is seeking a Bioinformatic Scientist to lead the SRA Bioinformatics team supporting the NIH Sequence Read Archive (SRA). The successful candidate will lead the development of new software, tools, and workflows to improve the Findability, Accessibility, Interoperability, and Reuse (FAIR) of SRA data and enhance its impact on scientific research and public health.

Requirements

• Doctorate level degree in bioinformatics, molecular biology, computational biology, data science, computer science, information technology, or a similar field
• Conceptual knowledge of genomics, molecular biology, and computational biology
• Practical knowledge of bioinformatics, bioinformatic tools, and the application of genomic sequencing data to biomedical and other scientific use cases
• Experience leading teams, setting team goals, prioritizing work based on available information and stakeholder needs, and utilizing metrics to measure success
• Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation skills
• Strong interpersonal engagement, networking, and collaboration skills
