American Sign Language (ASL) Freelancer Interpreter

We are looking for an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter to provide sign language interpretation services in various settings, empowering individuals who are deaf, deafened, hard of hearing, and/or oral to advocate for themselves and their needs.

Requirements

• Fluency in English and American Sign Language (ASL)
• Minimum 1 year interpretation experience preferred
• Interpreter certification (RID – CDI)
• Understanding of deaf culture and social experiences of deaf and hard of hearing persons
• Proven interpersonal skills when working with deaf and hearing impaired persons
• Proficient computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, email, electronic scheduling, and internet
• Excellent written communication skills
• Ability to work independently and within a team
• Render correct concepts and meanings according to the conventions of established interpretation protocol
