We are looking for a skilled Mechanical Engineer who is passionate about designing high-performance building systems and leading projects from concept design through to construction. You'll work within an integrated design studio where architects, interior designers, and engineers collaborate under one roof on commercial and institutional projects. This is a growth position that will give you the opportunity to take on increasing technical responsibility, mentor junior team members, and develop project leadership skills.
Requirements
- Design plumbing, drainage, fire protection, heating, ventilation and cooling (HVAC) systems for commercial and institutional buildings
- Lead and coordinate mechanical design from concept phase through construction documents
- Collaborate with architects, interior designers, structural engineers, and electrical engineers to deliver integrated, sustainable building solutions
- Develop and maintain high quality Revit models and engineering drawings for HVAC, plumbing and drainage, and fire protection systems
- Perform load calculations, equipment selections, and system sizing using first principles engineering and industry standard software
- Integrate energy modelling, value engineering, and lifecycle costing to optimize mechanical system performance and project budgets
- Manage day to day project activities, including client meetings, presentations, and consultant coordination
- Support construction administration activities including site reviews, shop drawing review, and responding to RFIs and contractor queries
- Mentor EITs and junior designers, contributing to team development and a culture of technical excellence
- Contribute innovative mechanical solutions for green and high-performance building projects
