Automation Training Technician

Role Overview

Designs, develops, and delivers automation and instrumentation training to support safe, reliable, and compliant operations. Serves as a subject matter expert in PLC-based control systems, instrumentation, communications, and automation field devices.

What You Will Do

Design and deliver instructor-led automation and instrumentation training, lead in-person training, build and maintain PLC curriculum, train employees on integrating PLCs with HMIs, flow computers, and SCADA, and create and maintain computer-based training modules.

Requirements

• Demonstrated field experience with oil & gas automation systems, including PLC-based control and instrumentation.
• Ability to design and deliver effective training (classroom, hands-on, and/or digital learning) for technicians and operators.
• Working knowledge of PLC programming concepts and troubleshooting, plus basic integration with HMI/SCADA environments.
• Working knowledge of common instrumentation devices (e.g., pressure and level measurement) including calibration/verification.
• Understanding of industrial communications (e.g., Modbus, HART, Ethernet/radio networks) and basic network troubleshooting.
• Commitment to safe work practices, hazard recognition, and compliance in operational environments.
