Mechanical Composites Engineer, Sr.

Role Overview

Reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, the Mechanical Composites Engineer, Sr. will support scopes of work activities associated with composite components, assemblies, and machines in the Centrifuge Project. The successful candidate will provide support to the Centrifuge Program to accomplish goals and objectives while ensuring compliance to Centrus standards and practices.

What You Will Do

Act as the lead engineer for composite part design, fabrication, and test. Assist in designing, building, and troubleshooting high vacuum systems, helium leak detection equipment, machined parts and assemblies, and structural and dynamic systems.

We'd love to hear from candidates with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering and 7+ years of experience in designing and manufacturing large composite parts. Stronger candidates will have experience using FEA, CAD, lean manufacturing, and project management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
• 7+ years of experience in designing and manufacturing large composite parts
• FEA experience (Ansys experience a plus)
• CAD experience (SolidWorks experience a plus)
• Lean manufacturing experience
• Project management experience
• Q-level security clearance
