Electrical Distribution Designer I

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Distribution Design Engineer to support electric utility projects across northern Illinois. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing overhead and underground distribution systems in compliance with ComEd standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines.

What You Will Do

Design overhead and underground electric distribution systems, prepare and review distribution design packages, and perform field reviews, site walks, and design validation.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (or equivalent utility experience)
• 2+ years of electric distribution design experience
• Direct ComEd distribution design experience (required)
• Strong knowledge of overhead and underground distribution systems (4 kV – 34.5 kV)
• Utility construction standards and materials
• Proficiency with industry design software and drafting tools
• Ability to interpret utility standards, maps, and field data
• Excellent communication and documentation skills
