Cloud Architect - Banking with German

We are looking for an experienced Cloud Architect to join our growing Banking & Capital Markets delivery team serving EY's DACH practice. In this role, you will lead cloud architecture and migration initiatives for major banking clients in Germany, Austria, and Switzerland.

Requirements

• Minimum 6 years of experience in IT architecture, with at least 4 years focused on cloud architecture
• Proven track record of leading cloud migration and modernization projects end-to-end
• Deep hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure: compute, networking, storage, identity, security, data services
• Strong understanding of landing zone design, hub-and-spoke topologies, enterprise-scale architecture
• Solid knowledge of Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, Bicep, or ARM templates) and CI/CD practices
• Experience with containerization and orchestration: Kubernetes (AKS), Docker, service mesh
• Strong grasp of cloud security principles: Zero Trust, IAM, network security, data protection, secrets management
• Experience working with banking or financial services clients — ideally in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, or comparable regulated European markets
• Familiarity with European financial services regulations impacting cloud adoption (DORA, BaFin BAIT, EBA outsourcing guidelines)
• Proven ability to lead technical teams, mentor engineers, and deliver complex projects
