
Job description
This role is based in our Tāmaki Makaurau (Auckland) office, you’ll work with a values-based team of amazing technologists who are always growing, learning, and adapting, both in and out of the office. As a Cyber Defence Technical Engagement Lead, you will be responsible for end-to-end technical leadership of our managed SOC services (covering threat monitoring, detection, response, threat hunting, and security engineering) across EY clients, with a particular focus on the Security Operations Centre (SOC) and cyber defence services.
Provide end-to-end technical leadership across SOC and cyber defence engagements (monitoring, detection, response, threat hunting and security engineering). Oversee day-to-day SOC operations (incident triage, and response) and ensure service level agreements and key performance indicators are met, identifying opportunities to enhance processes and tooling over time.
This position is best suited to experienced cyber practitioners who have operated as engagement leads, SOC leads, or technical delivery managers in complex environments. Excellent analytical and communication skills—able to lead teams, work under pressure, and engage effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
