The Food Fortification Initiative (FFI) is a global partnership based at Emory University’s Rollins School of Public Health that supports governments and stakeholders in planning, implementing, and monitoring the fortification of industrially milled wheat flour, maize flour, and rice. By providing advocacy, technical assistance, and evidence‑based guidance, FFI helps address micronutrient deficiencies that affect a third of the world’s population, improving health outcomes such as reduced birth defects, enhanced cognitive development, and increased adult productivity. As the only organization dedicated exclusively to these staple grains, FFI also tracks national and worldwide progress in grain fortification, enabling large‑scale, cost‑effective nutrition interventions.
