Power Line Technician

As a Powerline Technician at FortisBC, you will be responsible for performing duties related to electric utility transmission and distribution systems, protective and safety devices, and isolating procedures. You will also be required to train new employees, apprentices, and employees in lower classifications, and assist in training new employees. The role has standby, overtime, and travel requirements based on operational needs.

Requirements

• Holder of a Journeyman Powerline Technician Interprovincial Certificate or a Lineman Trades Qualification Certificate.
• Be familiar with and experienced in electric utility transmission and distribution systems, protective and safety devices, and their clearances and isolating procedures.
• Holder of a valid Class 3 driver’s license with air brake endorsement.
