Infrastructure Security Engineer

Role Overview

As an Infrastructure Security Engineer, you will combine strong security, infrastructure and scripting skills to automate, deploy and configure security systems critical to the defence of our organisation. You will report to the Infrastructure Security Manager and act as a hands-on technical SME for the team, mentoring junior engineers and providing technical input to the security product roadmap across G-Research.

What You Will Do

Key responsibilities of the role include: owning technical and delivery projects across various technology stacks, assisting with the strategic goals of the business, contributing secure designs and systems to the roadmap, contributing to ongoing threat modelling and assessment of team systems, deploying, configuring and maintaining security infrastructure, building security system integrations.

The ideal candidate will have broad enterprise infrastructure experience, hands-on experience designing, deploying, tuning and supporting security tooling in production, expert-level troubleshooting, automation experience using Python, Bash or PowerShell, and understanding of Entra, SAML, OIDC and Custom Applications.

Requirements

• Broad enterprise infrastructure experience across Windows, Linux, Entra, firewalls and web proxies
• Hands-on experience designing, deploying, tuning and supporting security tooling in production
• Expert-level troubleshooting with a structured, analytical approach to unfamiliar systems
• Automation experience using Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Understanding of Entra, SAML, OIDC and Custom Applications
