Applications Engineer - Data Centers

Role Overview

The Application Engineer is the primary technical resource supporting the internal/external Data Center field sales force, responsible for driving and managing the technology evaluation stage early in the sales process. They work in conjunction with the sales team to identify and provide reliable solutions as per customer requirements.

What You Will Do

Develop technical and commercial solutions to support the Data Center sales team, gather field requirements from customers, prepare and respond to customer RFQs, create online diagrams and wiring diagrams, and provide technical support for the integration of Generac products with other Data Center equipment.

Why It Might Be a Fit

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical and mechanical control systems, network communications technology, and Data Center design standards. They will be able to travel up to 25% and have strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
• 5+ years’ experience working in an Engineering role
• Experience reading architectural, mechanical and electrical blueprints
• Experience with and understanding of network communications technology
• Proficient with industrial standards, UL, NEC, ASME, IEC, NEMA
• Familiar with Data Center design standards like Uptime Institute
