Senior Electrical Engineer

Role Overview

The Senior Electrical Engineer will lead the engineering integration and core engineering teams through the development process in defining system interactions and requirements. Core responsibilities include the identification of system hardware and software components and evaluating inputs/outputs for sufficient performance of design as specified by the product requirements.

What You Will Do

Develop technical skills in Generac’s mobile power generation and conversion architecture, apply engineering knowledge and experience to improve systems, products, and/or processes, and perform root cause analysis and develop solutions for issues identified during the development process, testing, manufacturing process, and/or field.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, experience with PCBA design, fabrication, and manufacturing, and proficiency in development of firmware for the purpose of technology evaluations/investigations.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of relevant work experience
• Master’s degree in electrical engineering or related discipline (preferred)
• Experience with PCBA design, fabrication, and manufacturing (preferred)
• Hands on experience running tests on complex electronic components and/or systems (preferred)
• Experience developing component and/or system level test plans, test procedures, and test reports (preferred)
• Proficiency in development of firmware for the purpose of technology evaluations/investigations (preferred)
• Experience in electrical design software and simulation tools (preferred)
• Experience with the design and development of high-power electronics (preferred)
• Experience with renewable energy products and energy storage systems (preferred)
• Experience in new technology research and development (preferred)
• Skilled in determining the root cause of complex electronic hardware issues identified during testing, manufacturing or in the field (preferred)
• Strong decision-making skills (preferred)
• Ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy on multiple projects (preferred)
• Excellent oral and written communication of technical information to all audiences (preferred)
