Senior Subsystem Lead Engineer

The Sub-System Lead Engineer will lead the development, definition, and documentation of requirements for applicable sub-systems, collaborating with cross-functional teams and ensuring technical specifications are well-defined. A growth mindset and high level of comfort with ambiguity are essential for this role. Key responsibilities include leading complex sub-system analysis, creating Behavioral Test Specifications, and collaborating with System Engineers to decompose high-level requirements into lower-level requirements. The role involves close collaboration with cross-functional teams, ensuring technical specifications are well-defined, behaviors are clearly documented, and compliance with requirements is maintained throughout the development lifecycle.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical, Systems, Software or related fields)
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Safety Critical System Engineering
• Strong analytical problem-solving skills, including independent judgment and decision-making skills, where problems are very unusual and extremely difficult
• Experience with Requirements Engineering in automotive, aerospace, or related industries
• Knowledge of Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) and MBSE principles
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills required to build relationships with team members and customers across Canada and US to solve problems and resolve issues
• Physics-based understanding of the Voice-of-Customer
• Ability to effectively communicate issues, status and recommendations to leadership
• Ability to read/understand source code (C/C++)
• Ability to prioritize work with only limited direction from manager
• Ability to travel infrequently (<5%) to Markham ON CA and Mountain View California
