
Job description
The Getty Research Institute's Digital Stewardship and Metadata Optimization team seeks a Metadata Specialist to support a major initiative to migrate archival content into a centralized digital asset management system and data management platform. The team is committed to advancing knowledge and understanding of the visual arts and their histories, serving an international community of scholars.
Manage the migration of digital assets, apply professional judgment to create complex new metadata, analyze archival description source metadata, maintain quality control processes, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with stakeholders.
This role requires strong communication skills, experience working with digital collections, and knowledge of metadata standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong organizational skills, ability to meet deadlines, and experience working in the visual arts, library, and/or archives domains.
