Job Description
Fresher Sacramento is a non-profit organization working with youth to generate health, wealth, and life skills through a program teaching participants how to prepare fresh fruits, vegetables, and prepared meals. The Prep Cook will be responsible for preparing ready-to-eat packaged meals, performing kitchen tasks, maintaining a clean environment, and ensuring food safety.
Requirements
- Basic understanding of professional cooking and knife handling skills.
- Understanding and knowledge of safety, sanitation and food handling procedures.
- Previous prep or line cook experience.
- Working knowledge of health and safety codes in the kitchen.
- Manual dexterity to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils.
- Effective communication and ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to stand for 100% of hours worked.
