The Director of Aquatics oversees all aquatic services at the Aquatic Center, ensuring a quality experience for members and participants, while staying current with industry best practices and implementing effective safety procedures.
Requirements
- Develops and implements a comprehensive aquatics program plan
- Ensures hours of operation and services offered are constant and consistent
- Monitors daily pool operations to adhere to all state, local, YMCA health and safety regulations
- Offers quality member service and enhances member program experience
- Promotes and incorporates the Y's core values and character development model into all program activities
- Supervises the Associate Director of Aquatics, Head swim coach, and supports all staff
- Ensures the pool and aquatic center is adequately staffed and supported at all times
- Conducts and ensures proper maintenance and cleanliness of pool, aquatics facilities, and equipment
- Recruits, trains, develops, and supervises all program staff
- Schedules, monitors, supports, maintains regular communication with, and verifies and submits payroll for aquatics staff
